May Zheng

Emerging artist, May Zheng, began attending the Art Academy of Hillsborough with illustrator and portrait artist, Kevin Murphy, at the age of 12. May became an apprentice of Murphy’s and began intensive study with him in the oil medium when she was 16. Her first book cover was published by kOZMIC Press in September, 2021, for The Mad King by Rebekay Mabry. May was most recently recognized at the beginning of November by the Art Renewal Center (ARC) as a finalist in the Imaginative Realism and Portraiture categories for professional artists in the 16^th ARC International Salon Competition. With over 5400 entries from 75 countries, 24% were chosen as finalists. The winners will be announced January 2, 2023.
